Testing, testing.

Just sending this to see if the forum is still in operation.  No posts for nearly a month? I check in every day and can't believe no one has anything to say about anything any more.

Vic.

I still drop in every few

I still drop in every few days or so........

Odd, as I have said before, that management doesn't attempt to revive the forum. You'd think there'd be some commercial benefits...........

As it happens, I hardly have time to listen to anything at the moment. (Baby.......) Looking forward to finding a bit more time next year.

Happy Christmas anyway, Vic - and anyone else who might be listening.

It does seem very quiet here

It does seem very quiet here at the moment.

I'm glad I'm not the only one taking a peek.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Testing good wishes.

I guess there is no much to say about anything, at least for the time being. However, this is the time to exchange some good, heartfelt wishes for this wonderful Season of goodwill and hope. So, Merry Christmas to all of you who may visit this very quiet (for now) place.

May the next year be a promising one for motivating us to keep listening to Music.

Most sincere congratulations

Most sincere congratulations for the baby Jane. I bet he/she is keeping you pretty busy at the moment! I’m sure we will find time and maybe even people to keep talking about music next year. All the best.

Thanks Camaron!

Thanks Camaron!

Yes, very busy - far more than I expected. Old news to all the other parents out there, but a bit of shock for me......

He's a bit too young for Bruckner at the moment, so its mainly pop and nursery rhyme stuff for now. He is just about able to follow a short song all the way through, though he is usually distracted by the sight of a toy before it finishes. He quite likes my recorder, but prefers to hold it rather than listen to me playing........

Best wishes

My first one is only six

My first one is only six months old, so I’ve got an idea what you are talking about!!

His granny is a piano teacher and thinks he has a good musical ear. Here is hoping for a Second Gould Coming!!! I know, I know….

Tried any Brahms with him yet?

I made the mistake of putting on a Mozart piano sonata this morning. He spent the whole time bashing blocks together and trying to break his activity table........

I think he likes Stravinsky..

To the revival...

A happy and musical Christmas to our little band of remainers.  (No, please don't go there!)  And congratulations Jane and Camaron. Wonderful news.

Thanks to some amazing technical developments from the makers of my (Scottish) audio equipment, and Qobuz as a source, my life feels like permanent access to life's concert hall lately.  Example: I had occasion to refer back to Angus Watson's "Beethoven's Chamber Music" recently, and saw the complete works listed by opus numbers at the back.  Being the obsessive that I am I thought I would seek out recommended recordings of each in order and call them up on Qobuz.  A project on the side, as it were.  I am amazed at what a rich experience it is turning out to be.  It should keep me out of mischief in 2018 anyway.

Best wishes one and all.

Life goes on.

Congratulations to our recent parents Jane and Camaron. I don't know whether they are your first ones but, at least for me, the first one was an incredible, irreversible change of my life but also a greatly rewarding experience for life. I trust you'll see and feel all the rewards of this unique experience of being a parent regardless of the cost involved.

As for my two boys first positive encounter with Classical Music, Mozart proved to be the...miracle with some of his most straightforward pieces (Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Alla Turca, Overture to  Le nozze di Figaro and so on).

Again best wishes to all here, there and everywhere.
