Parla, the responses by the trolls just proved my earlier remarks, they exhibit seer ignorance.

My proposal is to just get on with what we enjoy, even if this sometimes inane and plain boring.

Main message is not to respond to the content of their messages in any way. They thrive on your frustration.

All this annoyance from the great witless ones is one reason why I cooled off about the forum. But maybe,if we paid no attention to them, the nuisance intruders might become bored and seek entertainment elsewhere, like cyber attacking some website. You know, the sort of thing which mindless kids do.

But,if this forum was properly looked after such people would be banned from it,as on other sites.

One question comes to mind. Do these trolls like music? Do they understand it (that is two questions) Judging from what they write I doubt it. I wonder what Compton Mackenzie would have said about such nasty people on the forum of his magazine? After all,we are lovers of great music and  beauty not war game players

Like barnacles on the bottle of a boat, they need scraping off,and the sooner the better.

come on guys and girls

Well put Sedgeley!

Come on guys and girls, let us hear more of our commitment to what we love = seriously intended, if sometimes inane, discussion of classical music(s) and how we listen = HiFi gear.

Willem often annoyed me with his self-opinionated views, BUT, I miss him.

Wherefore art thou?  Willem, Parla, Jane, and, living in hope, new serious contributors to our conversations.

well said

Well said Parla!

moderation?

I posted a message I think two days ago explaining why I had no intention of posting anymore as long as we are inundated by trolls. That message has suddenly been deleted by the administrators, but more importantly so have many messages from trolls. Let's see how this will play out.

Back to business as usual?

Let us hope that we are indeed back to 'business as usual'.

But it would be good to know more about how the Forum as a whole is managed by an 'administrator' or 'moderator'.

I have found no way in which participants can register complaints about contributions they find to be disruptive.

I sent a complaint by e-mail to the Gramophone 'team', but have not received a response.
