I just saw your inquiry today (March 28, 2018) about a Squeezebox replacement. I hope my comments below are of help in case your Yamaha device is not proving totally satisfactory.
I accidentally discovered that my Oppo BDP-103 DVD player acts as a very nice Squeezebox Duet replacement. It connects seamlessly with the Logitech Media Server on my NAS, and actually has better DAC circuits than my Squezebox, so the sound is superior. The Logitech Media Server provides a display similar to that provided by the Squeezebox Duet, and the Oppo sends this to my output video device (projector or TV screen).
I thus have all the functionality of the Duet, with better sound, except for the fact that the Logitech internet radio stations are not available. However, since most receivers nowadays have internet capability, this is not a problem.
Hope this helps.
