RE: The Brennan JB7

I have a Brennan and have loaded my large CD collection onto it but I find it rather cumbersome locating tracks and albums plus I like to burn my own compilation CDs .... as a result of which I'm moving to iTunes / iPod but keeping the Brennan as a back up and to play on random, which often produces interesting results. Could somebody explain the process of moving all my tracks from the Brennan to iTunes? Also will tracks display properly on iTunes by name of track/ album / artist? The alternative, loading all my CDs again onto iTunes, would take me a long time.

RE: The Brennan JB7

Transfer the music from the JB7 onto a USB memory stick. Then plug the memory stick into your PC. Copy the MP3s to a convenient folder on the PC then use iTunes to load these MP3s onto your iPod.

ok i am considering buying a brennan jb7 does any one with a jb7 know the internal amp specification for it!!

RE: The Brennan JB7

The JB7 has an internal 60W amp – this can be bypassed via the headphone socket should you wish to use your own amp.

Thanks Parisboy

It took me three and a half days to transfer the contents of my Brennan to a hard disc drive which I've now plugged into my PC. I've transferred some individual albums copied from the hard disc drive to a folder and then imported the folder into iTunes but only the name of each song is displayed i.e no artist or album title. Is it possible for iTunes to display that information? If not, I suspect I'll end up having to load individual CDs into iTunes. Thanking whoever responds in advance.

RE: The Brennan JB7

How can I create a text document of the albums on my JB7?

RE: The Brennan JB7

To create a text document of the albums on your device:

1) Insert a USB storage device (Eg a usb Pendrive)
2) Go to the main menu
3) Select "Usb Functions".
4) Select "List Albums"

This Will create a text file on your USB stick detailing the albums
hope this helps

It is possible for iTunes to display the information you want. However, you might have to enter that information manually. I am surprised that information isn't linked to the mp3 tracks. You can ask iTunes to download the  missing track information for individuals songs/tracks by going to the Advanced Tag and choosing Get Track names. It sounds like a time consuming process to me. I think VicJay knows something about cleaning up the tags of these tracks with a software app that does them by batches instead of one at a time.

Maybe use can use the search function in iTunes to look up by composer

From the JB7 FAQs

Can you search for an artist or composer?

Yes - by convention the artist or composer is appended to the album name (or to the track name for compilations of various artists). So for instance if you use the Search Albums function and search for "beet" you will find all albums with Beethoven in the name.
