2012 season overflows with talent including almost a dozen guest soloists and conductors for Weekend Orchestra concerts and an electrifying lineup of Spotlight Concerts.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming – February 27, 2012 – Grand Teton Music Festival announces the 51st season of summer concerts at the base of the Tetons. Fresh off a spectacular 50th Anniversary season in 2011, internationally-acclaimed conductor and GTMF Music Director Donald Runnicles looks toward the future – maintaining the superb level of musicianship from the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, furthering a strong tradition of community engagement and education programs, and bringing the world’s finest guest artists to Jackson Hole.
The 2012 summer season presents some of the most extraordinary programming the Festival has offered to date – pianist Stephen Hough performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with guest conductor Mark Wigglesworth; percussionist Colin Currie on MacMillan’s Veni, Veni, Emmanuel; violinist James Ehnes on Sibelius’ Violin Concerto; Spotlight Concert guests The 5 Browns; Ruth Moody (of the Wailin’ Jennys) and many more.
