Sergey Rachmaninoff - Piano concerto No. 3, Antonin Dvorak - Symphony No. 9
This musical show of two famous music masterpieces is connected to the "New World" - S. Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto and A. Dvorak's 9th Symphony. The premieres of these both works were carried out in New York, at the end of 19th and beginning of 20th.
The Steinway Artist Stanislav Khristenko will present you an interpretation of the Rachmaninoff's 3rd piano concerto, and he has indeed developed this piece to the extraordinary emotional experience and to the absolute technical perfection!
Praised in the media around the globe including New York Times and Washington Post, Mr. Khristenko has won top prizes at over 30 prestigious international piano competitions including Cleveland International Piano Competition and Queen Elisabeth Music Competition.
As a piano soloist Stanislav Khristenko has performed with over 40 orchestras on four continents.
The Pilsen Philharmonic will share the stage of the Dvorak Hall with the famous pianist.
Peculiarly enough, besides generally acknowledged musical merits in Dvorak's 9th Symphony, we find also one unsolved mystery, over which quarrel many musical critics: was Dvorak inspired in his 9th Symphony by African American spirituals or by the songs of American Indians? On this question, sometimes overgrowing in conspiracy theories, one can answer independently - by listening to 9th Symphony performed by the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra. The key for it will provide you an American conductor Kirk Smith, who is known for his beautiful interpretations of Dvorak music in the USA.
Stanislav Khristenko (USA)
Praised for his emotional intensity, charismatic expression, and brilliant technique Ukrainian-born pianist Stanislav Khristenko is one of America's most thought-provoking and eminent young artists.

A "poet of piano" (Le Soir), Mr. Khristenko has been praised in the media around the globe. New York Times reviewer Zachary Woolfe wrote that in "an impressive recital... (he) plays with thoughtful lucidity and restraint." Spanish El Pais wrote of his "precise technique, powerful sound and fingers of steel."
