The Forum is back - welcome

It's good to see that the Forum is back and I hope we'll soon have some activity again.

As I reported in another thread, I was unable to start a new thread.  I've now changed from Chrome to Safari, and it seems I can now start a new thread. However, I think that the platform is not the problem.  I had used up all my 'free views' in Chrome, whereas in Safari, for some reason I still had some.  Submitting this post has used up one of them.  Again then, I suspect this is not how it was intended to be?  It would certainly limit the scope of the Forum!

Two other points, we've lost the ability to edit our own posts (a nuisance), and no longer have the opportunity to flag up offensive posts. Is this temporary?

Any comments, Luca, or anyone from Gramophone?

It seems that after all the problem is platform specific. Even with 'no views left', using Safari, I can still start a new thread. My only expereience is with a Mac.  I wonder how it is with various Windows-based platforms?

Welcome back, Chris.

Welcome back, Chris.

I haven't encountered any technical problems, yet, but I haven't tried to do very much. I suspect you are right about the "Views Left". It doesn't seem to work very well at the moment and seems to apply to parts of the forum it shouldn't.

Perhaps we should use this thread as a kind of roll call for the "old" members.........

I am here, anyway.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to you too Jane.

I agree with your suggestion - let's see who is around and then we can perhaps get going again!

I must adsmit I do miss that 'edit' button, experience shows that I miss many mistakes in my posts until after posting!

About the Forum...

Hi, Chris and Jane.

I managed to see today that the "Forum" sign is in the opening page of the site. Unfortunately, I do not see any real or practical improvement. The "edit" button is a setback. The lack of "history" in terms of how many posts each one of us has contributed so far is a less significant but still relevant problem, among others.

I sincerely hope it is only some starting problems that the "team" will eventually resolve and even improve the function of the Forum. We'll see...

For the moment, I didn't dare to start a new thread. Let's see how things are to develop first.

Best wishes.
