Well done, Gramophone magazine!

I'm not sure how many of the contributors here actually read the magazine, but I have, every issue, for well over 40 years. Over the last year or two, the reviewing team has been enormously renewed and refreshed. In these circumstances I'd normally expect to like some of the new reviewers and be less keen on others. But amazingly, they're all really good, fine and succinct writers who know their subject. I suspect this may be the strongest reviewing team the magazine has had. So congratulations to Martin Cullingford, and I imagine, to Reviews Editor Hugo Shirley (who writes a pretty capable review himself).

Nice work if you can get it...

I think some of the sometimes begrudging "contributors" can be relieved to see that a dazzling change in the reviewing team worked wonders on some of the most loyal readers of this esteemed publication and can make them brimming full of joy. Let's hope that they will find it out as well.

Well done Paul for bringing this matter to the fore.
