I suppose it was the loss of SImon Rattle's contract now that Warner has taken over EMI which has led to the Belin Phil setting up its own label. If anything it's rather late in the day. The Schumann set seems pleasant enough though I shan't be rushing to acquire it as I have three sets already (Sawallisch, Harnoncourt, Chailly). And the presentation seems not only lavish but also inconvenient - I want straghtforward CDs which I can shelve with other CDs. I do hope they will issue not only new recordings but also some of the wonderful concerts they have given in the (fairly recent) past, such as Abbado's Das Lied von der Erde with von Otter and Kaufmann and his Brahms Rinaldo also with Kaufmann.
