Italian Cello Concertos
This selection of late baroque Italian cello concertos is unusual. World premiere recording status is claimed for those by Jacchini and Platti, while others by Vivaldi (for two cellos) and Leo are no strangers to the catalogue. One more, attributed to Porpora, completes the programme. Period-instrument performances by Lucia Swarts, Richte van der Meer (Vivaldi) and Teatro Lirico are affectionate and stylistically fluent.'
