As a pianist, Say is dividing opinion with his recent Mozart disc (see page 78); as a composer the reaction can be less equivocal: notwithstanding decent performances, the over-reliance on simplistic melodic patterning, the clumsy conjunction of Western and Eastern idioms and the lack of any recognizable voice render this disc of interest to Say groupies only.'
