Biography
The winner of several respected competitions, violist Antoine Tamestit was selected to participate in BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists Scheme in 2004. He was one of the winners of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award in 2006, and received a Crédit Suisse Young Artist Award in 2009. His discography includes a solo recording of Bach and Ligeti released in 2007 for Naïve/Ambroisie and Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with Renaud Capuçon for Virgin Classics. Recently he has released an all-Schubert recording with soprano Sandrine Piau (Naïve), and the complete Fauré Piano Quartets with the Trio Wanderer (Harmonia Mundi). His latest recording is of Bach's six Suites, BWV 1007-1012 for Naïve. Volume I, featuring Suites Nos 1, 3 and 5, was released in February 2013.
