The April issue of Gramophone is on sale now, in which we celebrate the magazine's 90th anniversary: leading artists of today reflect on what music means to them; editor-in-chief James Jolly discusses the impact of downloading on the 'value' of music; Rob Cowan looks at the musical world in 1923, the year the magazine was founded; features editor James McCarthy traces Gramophone's relationship with new music; and editor Martin Cullingford writes about the pivotal releases of the past nine decades.
