Leeds Lieder 2016 runs from April 1 to April 3 in the West Yorkshire city. This year it's overseen by the baritone and composer Roderick Williams and the pianist Joseph Middleton.

Gramophone's Editor-in-Chief James Jolly caught up with them at the Royal Academy of Music in London to talk about the 2016 programme, the themes of this year's concerts and some of the exciting educational initiatives that the curators have introduced. Among the artists appearing this year are singers Mark Padmore, Katarina Karnéus, Williams himself and the great Dutch soprano Elly Ameling who will be 'In Conversation'. Among the pianists are Iain Burnside, Julius Drake and Joseph Middleton.
