The Northern Aldborough Festival New Voices Singing Competition was established in 2023 and aims to provide a platform for rising stars to shine while connecting them with industry professionals in order to further their careers and professional development.

Competing for the Seastock Trust Prize, a £5000 cash award and a recital at Northern Aldborough Festival 2025, the semi-finalists will go head-to-head in a live performance in St Andrew’s Church, Aldborough this June.

The competition, which showcases exceptional UK classical vocalists will be judged by an impressive panel, including conductor Edward Gardner OBE, President of the Royal Northern College of Music Sir John Tomlinson CBE and pianist Sholto Kynoch.

Sir Tomlinson said ‘I’m honoured to use my experience to not only judge this important competition, but help shine a light on the new stars of classical music, and help them in their journey.’

The New Voices semi-finalists are: Annabel Kennedy (mezzo-soprano), Ava Dodd, (soprano), Caroline Taylor (soprano), Clara Orif (soprano), Florian Störtz (bass-baritone), Lauren Lodge-Campbell (soprano), Rebecca Leggett and Samuel Stopford (tenor).
