The tenor Julian Prégardien, joined by the pianist Eric Le Sage (playing a beautiful-sounding 1856 Blüthner instrument), has added another recording to his impressive and highly acclaimed recorded catalogue: an album of songs gathered around Robert Schumann’s cycle Dichterliebe. For this new Alpha Classics release, he supplemented the Heine songs of Dichterliebe with more songs, both early and late, by Robert and Clara.

Julian and Eric were in London recently to give a Wigmore Hall lunchtime recital and James Jolly caught up with the tenor to talk about the new album…
