Music Director John Butt introduces tonight's Cambridge Music Festival broadcast with illustrated talk

This evening the Cambridge Music Festival will broadcast a film of the Dunedin Consort performing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No 6. Just as with the broadcast last month of Concerto No 5 - also shared here - Music Director John Butt will offer a fascinating 15 minute illustrated talk about the work prior to the performance. The film will go live at 6pm - it will be available to watch below, and also for two weeks after that.

Should you need any further encouragement to watch, when the two-time Gramophone Award winning Dunedin Consort released a recording of the Brandenburg concertos on the Linn label in 2013, our reviewer David Vickers wrote: 'this set is nothing short of sensational'.

If you enjoyed this free performance, do please consider making a donation to the Cambridge Music Festival, which like all arts organisations has been hit hard by the impact of Covid-19. You can do so by clicking this link: cambridgemusicfestival.co.uk/donate
