Our Video of the Day is a track from a new album called Music for Self-Isolation, performed by horn player and Toronto Symphony Orchestra member Audrey Good, in an empty Roy Thomson Hall. 

When the world shut down in early 2020, composer Frank Horvat wanted to raise spirits and create music for artists forced into self-isolation. Across six weeks he composed 31 short solo and duo works for a variety of instruments and voice. In response, 150 musicians worldwide posted their performances of his pieces online.

Music for Self-Isolation, released today on Centrediscs, features all of those works, recorded over three days prior to a Covid lockdown, by 25 leading Canadian soloists and members of the Vancouver Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic and Oakville Symphony Orchestras. A documentary film of the making of the album will be released later this year.
