Elgar from Renaud Capuçon and Simon Rattle, the Jussen brothers play Rachmaninov, Sandrine Piau sings Richard Strauss, and we sample forthcoming albums by Louise Alder, Adam Walker, Augustin Hadelich and Miloš

The big works this week are the Elgar Violin Concerto with Renaud Capuçon, and Simon Rattle conducting the LSO, Fauré's lovely First Violin Sonata played by Tanguy de Williencourt and Théotime Langlois de Swarte, Richard Strauss's heavenly Four Last Songs sung by Sandrine Piau, and HK Gruber's guitar concerto, into the open …, played by Colin Currie. And we dip into the new album 'Proud Songsters' which showcases many generations of alumni of King's College, Cambridge.

Other new works come from Rodrigo Ruiz, Wim Henderrickx and Joby Talbot, while Bach and Rameau take us further back in time.
