The April edition of Gramophone is now available, with a focus on new music. We interview three composers who exemplify the most inspirational work taking place in three areas of contemporary music: Michael White speaks to American Eric Whitacre, who has attracted vast new audiences to the choral tradition; Philip Clark meets Britain's Sir Harrison Birtwistle, whose 50-year career continiues to break new barriers; and Philip Kennicott talks to John Adams, whose contemporary-themed works have placed him firmly in the consciousness of the wider public.
