Among the New Year Honours 2021, announced today, the conductor and musicologist Jane Glover received a DBE. Dame Jane was a pioneer in her profession, inspiring a generation of women to pursue a conducting career.

The director, founder and Artistic Director of Birmingham Opera, Graham Vick, was made a Knight for his services to music and to the regions.

The composer Julian Anderson, the pianist and conductor Barry Douglas, the conductor Daniel Harding and the CEO and founder of Grange Park Opera, Wasfi Kani, were all awarded a CBE.

An OBE went to the cellist Natalie Clein and the organist, pianist and conductor Wayne Marshall. And the violinist Bradley Creswick, former leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, received an MBE.
