The July issue of Gramophone celebrates the BBC Proms with a 20-page special section, guest edited by this year's Last Night artist Lang Lang (he'll be playing Liszt's Piano Concerto No 1). He's chosen to interview cellist Yo-Yo Ma for us, while other Proms-related features include a survey of unusual concertos, an exploration of sibling musical partnerships, and a discussion with flautist Emmanuel Pahud – plus full listings of the entire Proms season. You can also read about the opening night pianist, the astonishingly-talented 18-year-old Benjamin Grosvenor, in our One to Watch section.

The Collection this month is Sibelius's Symphony No 2 – find out which recordings were chosen by David Gutman as his leading recommendations. There's also an interview with harp player Lavinia Meijer, conductor Kristjan Järvi writes the Diary page, find out about the latest audio developments in our High Fidelity section, and, of course, discover our pick of the month's releases in our Editor's Choice section – plus there's all the latest classical music news in our For the Record section.

Don't forget to visit the Gramophone Player, where you can hear free excerpts from all the Editor's Choices, excerpts from the Collection's recommended recordings, a newly transferred recording from the archives, and a performance of Mahler's Symphony No 6, conducted at the 1967 Proms by Sir John Barbirolli, courtesy of Testament Records.
