The Norwegian composer Harald Sæverud (1897-1992), who lived in Bergen and worked closely with the Philharmonic, wrote a piece of music called Kjempeviseslåtten ('Ballad of Revolt') as a protest against the Nazi invasion of Norway during the Second World War. He dedicated the piece to 'all small and big fighters'.

The Bergen Philharmonic has recorded this piece, every single musician playing at his or her home office, and recording it with an iPad. Afterwards, it was edited and made into a single video. The Bergen Philharmonic is dedicating it to 'all small and big fighters' who are battling against the Corona virus.

It was published yesterday, a symbolic date since Norway was occupied on April 9, 1940 and has already be viewed 26,000 times. Here it is, complete with an introduction, in Norwegian, by the orchestra’s Chief Conductor Edward Gardner.
