Introducing Gramophone's November 2016 issue

Gramophone
Tuesday, November 8, 2016

In the November issue of Gramophone, on sale from November 4, we speak to Joyce DiDonato about ‘In War and Peace: Harmony through Music’, her new album of Baroque arias which she made following the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris. This is her ‘most personal project to date’, the American mezzo-soprano tells Editor-in-Chief James Jolly, who is hopeful that it will encourage people across the world to #talkpeace.

Elsewhere in the issue, we explore how the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and its BMOP/sound label are giving a voice to contemporary American music as they release their 50th recording. We also investigate a new Ring recording project from the Hong Kong Philharmonic as it reaches its second, highly praised instalment.

Alongside all of this, you'll find our usual selection of excellent, up-to-date reviews by our team of expert reviewers. If you want to know about all the latest classical releases, and whether or not they're worth buying, our Reviews section is the place to start. Don’t miss it!
