Set in the spectacular Swiss Alps, the Verbier Festival - this year celebrating its 20th anniversary - runs from July 19 to August 4. The usual array of star artists rub shoulders with young musicians taking part in the festival's in-house training programmes: the Verbier Festival Academy, Verbier Festival Orchestra under music director Charles Dutoit and (new in 2013) the Verbier Festival Music Camp.

On the programme at the Salle des Combins this year are Anna Netrebko, Evgeny Kissin, Janine Jansen, Pinchas Zukerman, Bryn Terfel, Eva-Maria Westbroek and Maxim Vengerov, while the more intimate Eglise offers appearances from Natalie Dessay, Lisa Batiashvili, Khatia Buniatishvili, Yevgeny Sudbin, Miloš Karadaglić, Hélène Grimaud, Simon Keenlyside, Emanuel Ax, Renaud Capuçon, Gautier Capuçon, Yuja Wang and Quatuor Ebène.
