Lawrence Power and the composer perform the opening work from the new visual album 'Dark Pastoral'

We end the week with this stunningly beautiful video featuring Thomas Adès and Lawrence Power, of Adès's work 3 Berceuses for Viola and Piano, the first release from a new visual album, 'Dark Pastoral'.

The film is created by video production company Âme, who write: 'Recognised as one of today’s greatest living composers and performers, we are honoured to collaborate with Thomas Adès on this the first part of the album. With music taken from his most recent opera The Exterminating Angel, 3 Berceuses is a unique and intensely intimate performance film. Filming music making that is captured live, really live, is something we are passionate about and what you see and hear here is exactly what was captured in this space on a dusky afternoon in north London - a moment of intimacy and nuanced performance between two inimitable artists'.

The film was made by: Jessie Rodger (Director), Brett Cox (Audio Producer & Engineer) and Emma Werner (Camera Assistant & Photographer). For more information about Âme, visit: ameproductions.org
