Martha Argerich and Itzhak Perlman has made one album together before, a recording of a live recital from Saratoga Performing Arts Center, which was made in 1998. But they have not made a studio album together until now. On September 30 their recordings of Bach's Violin Sonata No 4, BWV1017, Brahms's Scherzo in C minor, and Schumann's Violin Sonata No1 and Fantasiestücke, Op 73, will be released by Warner Classics. Edward Greenfield reviewed Argerich and Perlman's previous release for Gramophone, and noted: 'Some may resist the expressive freedom, whether in phrasing, rubato or in fluctuations of tempo, but the magnetism will for most be irresistible, even when the playing is not immaculate...
