Kopatchinskaja's no-holds-barred approach to Vivaldi makes for a thrilling watch
Patricia Kopatchinskaja's new album 'What's Next Vivaldi?', recorded with conductor Giovanni Antonini and his ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, looks set to be an explosive affair – if newly-released footage from the recording sessions (below) is anything to go by.
The album (released digitally on September 4, and physically on September 11 on Alpha) includes several Vivaldi concertos, including La Tempesta di Mare, alongside modern works mostly commissioned by Kopatchinskaja, by Luca Francesconi, Simone Movio, Giacinto Scelsi, Aureliano Cattaneo and Giovanni Sollima.
