A special excerpt from tonight's episode of A Choral Odyssey

Restrictions in many parts of the country and beyond may sadly have limited opportunities to hear live choral concerts in the lead-up to Christmas - but until things return to normal, you can still journey with The Sixteen through centuries of music in their series of online programmes, A Choral Odyssey, presented by actor Sir Simon Russell Beale.

And to raise everyone's spirits, our Video of the Day features a special excerpt from tonight's episode of members of The Sixteen singing The Salutation Carol. Tonight's programme will explore the way medieval carols have influenced musicians of more recent times, particularly composer Cecilia McDowall, and is filmed at the medieval Kent house Penshurst Place.

All episodes of A Choral Odyssey are available to watch on demand until January 31, 2021. Season tickets cost £50, and individual episodes can be watched for £10. For more details visit The Sixteen's website.
