On May 4, more than 1500 singers gathered on the outside terraces of London's Southbank Centre for 'The Big Festival Opener', a mass-sing including Parry's Jerusalem and Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art.

The performance, part of the Chorus 2013 festival (May 4-6), opened Southbank Centre’s summer-long Festival of Neighbourhood with MasterCard, which runs from May 4 to September 8. The event explores what it means to be a good neighbour, with participation from local communities and partners from across the UK and abroad.
