The female vocal ensemble combine with VOCES8 to perform the title work from their new EP, More Love

'More Love', is the title track from Lyyra's new digital EP More Love out today, on 10 May. Newly composed by American composer Taylor Scott Davis, the recording also features their parent ensemble, VOCES8. 'More Love' sets the text of a traditional Shaker hymn beginning,

More love, more love,
The heavens are blessing,
The angels are calling,
O Zion, more love.

Speaking of writing 'More Love', Scott Davis said 'I have known these words for most of my life - my father, Sid Davis, published an arrangement of the hymn nearly 40 years ago, and I vividly remember hearing it sung for the first time. So when Barnaby asked for a piece that highlighted the debut of Lyyra, I reached for this text. If a mixed SATB ensemble was going to collaborate with an all-treble choir, I wanted to lean into images of angels as I wrote for two choirs, aiming for choir one to sound celestial. It is as though the call from the angels to love unconditionally begins and ends in the heavens.'
