Gallery – music and art come together in London

MusicArt London launches a new concert series called Conceptual Concerts at London's Colnaghi Art Gallery on October 22. The aim of the series, founded by pianist Annie Yim, is to explore the intersections between music and other artforms.

The first concert (on October 22) was inspired by artist Christopher Le Brun, President of the Royal Academy of Arts, and his recent appearance BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions. Pianist Annie Yim will explore the musicality of Le Brun's works at his upcoming exhibition within the gallery of Katrin Bellinger at Colnaghi. The recital will include the world premiere of a new work by British composer Richard Birchall, which is inspired by and dedicated to this exhibition.

The photos in the gallery above show Annie Yim and Richard Birchall finding inspiration in Christopher Le Brun's works in the artist's studio, with Le Brun's studio manager Nicola Togneri.

The second concert (on November 6) will focus on Schumann's Kinderszenen alongside the book art installations of Pauline Rafal and will include the premiere of a new work by composer Charlotte Bray.
