The English soprano talks about the theme behind her latest recital for Signum, 'The Divine Muse'
For her latest Signum Classics album, the soprano Mary Bevan has chosen a programme that draws on her studies at Cambridge. Joined by the pianist Joseph Middleton, ‘The Divine Muse’ features songs by Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf, and at its heart, Joseph Haydn’s scena Arianna a Naxos.
James Jolly met up with Mary to talk about the album, but also how she balances the very different demands of song, concert work and opera.
