Author:
These works date from between 1968 and 1998, written by a professor of composition in that period and sounding so. Songs include four settings of Yeats (a likeable one of The Scholars) and three of a single poem by Emerson. Piano duets are crisply played by the Davies duo, and Richard Stoker himself accompanies the songs. Portrait of a Town has a narrator saying pleasant things about Huddersfield, the piano-part seeming to dissociate itself.'
