A likeable and unusual programme, with eight songs by Stanford all having character, and Bax’s arrangement of O dear, what can the matter be? bringing about a joyful conclusion. Bernadette Greevy’s voice, recorded in 1996, sounds somewhat worn, but is still true and often beautiful; she is an artist, and makes good use of her resources. Hugh Tinney plays well, and there is a useful booklet.'
