Our latest special edition publication celebrates a century of music for the movies

Gramophone's latest special edition celebrates music for the cinema, as explored through our pages across almost a century.

Opening with a new interview with the composer John Williams, Gramophone Presents…Film Music then draws together some of the most perceptive pieces, both recent and more historic, from our archives.

Composers and topics covered include Philip Glass, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, John Barry and William Walton, as well as Carl Davis's scores for Buster Keaton's silent movies and pianist Lang Lang's celebration of Disney classics.

We also draw together some of our most fascinating My Music features, featuring such illustrious actors and directors as Cate Blanchett, Sophia Loren, Martin Scorsese, Anthony Hopkins and Christoper Lee, who all talk about the place of classical music in their listening lives.

And finally, our guide to 30 great soundtracks is the perfect place to start your listening journey.
