The Gramophone cover star is joined by Brecon Baroque on a brand new album of English music from the 17th and early 18th centuries

Today's Video of the Day comes courtesy of Gramophone cover star Rachel Podger with 'Auld Bob Morrice' by the now lesser-known Italian Baroque composer Francesco Geminiani. Accompanied by Brecon Baroque on a brand new album of English music from the 17th and early 18th centuries from the likes of George Frideric Handel and Henry Purcell to Thomas Baltzar and Richard Jones.

Francesco Geminiani (1687 – 1762) was born in Lucca but spent much of his life in London as a direct contemporary of Handel in the court of the George I. In his time, he was very highly regarded particularly for his concerto grossi and his influential treatise Art of Playing on the Violin published in 1751.
