Film, to mark St Cecilia's Day and Britten's birthday, is taken from fundraising gala for a statue of the composer

To mark St Cecilia's Day and Benjamin Britten's birthday, we're delighted to share this wonderful video of the work the composer wrote in dedication to the Patron Saint of Music, Hymn to St Cecilia, sung by the vocal ensemble Apollo5.

The performance – which is introduced by Dame Janet Baker – is taken from a special gala event held at Wigmore Hall last month to raise funds for a statue of Benjamin Britten to be placed outside his birthplace in Lowestoft.

To find out more about the statue - which will be sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley and depicts the composer in childhood - and how you can support the project, visit brittenasaboy.com
