The singer is joined by guitarist Laura Snowden in Josephine Stephenson's new work, taken from 'Phrases'

Among the Editor's Choices in the July issue of Gramophone - out today - is 'Phrases', the solo album from Héloïse Werner, one of the most imaginative talents among today's young generation of singers and composers.

We met her in our pages last month, but to mark the Editor's Choice we are delighted to bring you this beautiful film of one of the works from her album, Comme l'espoir/you might all disappear by Josephine Stephenson, performed by Werner and guitarist Laura Snowden.

Like many of the works on 'Phrases' - which is released on the Delphian label on June 24 - the work explores language, taking as its starting point a short French poem by Antoine Thiollier, and weaving into it, and ultimately amalgamating, English words. Film by Foxbrush.
